Hello, and thank you for considering Foothills Dentistry for your care. My name is Dr. Mason Sawyer, and I am honored to serve as a family and implant dentist here in Dillard, Georgia. My philosophy is simple: explain every option clearly, use proven techniques, and stand behind the results. I believe dentistry should be precise, durable, and always centered on the needs of the patient.

I provide a wide range of treatments, including dental implants, crowns and bridges, same-day crowns, full-mouth rehabilitation with crowns, bridges, or All-on-X implants, root canal therapy, aligner orthodontic therapy, bone augmentation, and LANAP protocol periodontal surgery. Every treatment plan I design is personalized to your goals, your timeline, and your budget—because I want you to feel confident and comfortable with every step of your care.

To deliver the best possible outcomes, I rely on advanced digital technology that makes your visits both more accurate and more comfortable. I use intraoral scanning for precise models, CBCT imaging for 3D diagnostics and guided surgery, in-office milling for same-day crowns, and the PerioLase MVP-7 for minimally invasive laser gum therapy.

My career has also been shaped by service in the Georgia Army National Guard, where I currently serve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Since 1996, I have had the privilege of serving in roles ranging from Combat Engineer and Infantry Officer to Physician Assistant and Dentist, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. That experience has reinforced in me the importance of attention to detail, preparedness, and a calm, steady bedside manner—qualities I bring to every patient interaction.

When you come in for your first visit, we’ll begin with a conversation about your health history, concerns, and goals. I’ll complete a thorough exam using digital records, review everything with you in plain language, and outline clear next steps. My commitment is to provide care that prioritizes comfort, transparency, and long-term durability.

Outside of the office, I enjoy cycling, working out, traveling, reading, and spending time with my wife, stepson, and two dogs.

Dr. Sawyer is a Licensed LANAP Protocol provider. He has also completed the McCracken Comprehensive Implant Residency Program (CIRP). He has taken many SPEAR Education courses in advanced occlusion and comprehensive dental rehabilitation. He has over 600 hours of continuing education.
 

I am originally from central Alabama, I began my career in dentistry in 1992. I served as a dental assistant for ten years before earning my dental hygiene degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Since that time, I have worked in specialty offices focused on periodontics and prosthodontics. I moved to upstate South Carolina in 2013, where I gained experience in dental management before joining the team at Foothills Dentistry in August 2025. 

Additionally, I have worked with Southeastern Expeditions, a white water rafting company in NE GA on the Chattooga River since 2011, assisting with their marketing efforts. Interestingly, I met my husband in 2009 on a rafting trip while on a team building outing with my then dental team; we later married on New Year's Eve in 2017.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my granddaughters. On fall Saturdays, I can often be found in Tuscaloosa—Roll Tide!
